The New Year is here, and with it often comes a sense of hope and possibility. Maybe this is the year you want to be more present, build strength, run a race, or finally focus on nourishing your body. Whatever your goals look like, it’s important to remember that lasting change doesn’t come from doing everything at once. It comes from starting small and stacking habits over time.
Here are a few reminders and tips to help you feel confident and supported as you work toward your goals this year, straight from your Body Well coach.
Start small
Jumping in too deep too quickly can lead to burnout or discouragement, especially when progress isn’t immediately visible. Whether your goal is to improve your mile time or lose a few inches, begin with manageable, consistent habits. Add five extra minutes to your run, prioritize hydration, or commit to showing up a few days a week. These small wins build confidence and momentum
Consistency is key
You won’t get very far without consistency, but consistency doesn’t mean perfection. Setbacks will happen. Life happens. We are human, and we are moms. The important thing is that you keep moving forward. Progress is rarely linear, and choosing progress over perfection will always take you further in the long run.
Grace goes a long way
An all-or-nothing mindset can be one of the biggest obstacles to success. When we punish ourselves for not giving 100%, it often leads to giving nothing at all. Instead, celebrate the days you give 80%, 50%, or even 30%. Those days still count. Grace allows you to keep going, and growth happens when you build from where you are, not where you think you should be.
Don’t be afraid of growth
When you’re able, challenge yourself to give just a little more, an extra 10%. It may not sound like much, but growth happens when we step slightly outside our comfort zone. You don’t need to overhaul your life to see change; you just need to be willing to stretch.
As you move into this new year, remember that your goals are not a race or a checklist. They’re a journey. One built on consistency, grace, and small intentional choices. You don’t need to be perfect to make progress, and you don’t have to do it alone. Keep showing up, keep building, and trust that every small step forward is adding up to something meaningful. This is your year to grow. Grow stronger, more confident, and more supported than ever.
