The rainy season is upon us and what the heck are we going to do with these kids?! Well, we got you covered Mamas. Here are a few ideas to keep you busy and make these rainy days a little less dreary.
1. Come to FIT4MOM! Did you know that we move indoors when it rains? That’s right! Class meets at the Westfield Galleria Mall in Roseville whenever the weather is out of our favor, whether it is rainy, too cold, too hot or smoky. You can come and get your sweat on, connect with other moms, and after class, we love heading over to Busy Kids for the kiddos to get those wiggles out!
2. Go to an indoor play place!
Busy Kids offers a unique, hands on indoor play experience that children will want to return to again and again, engaging their creativity all year round.
Ely’s playhouse in Citrus Heights is a fun indoor play space for kiddos! With over 6000 square feet of play area, your kids are sure to have a great time.
3. Take a trip to the Aerospace or Train Museum!
4. Schedule a play date with friends!
5. Is venturing out of the house not in the cards for you? There are lots of fun activities you can do at home. One time, my son asked me for a snow day so I cut some white paper into tiny pieces and turned on a small fan. It was a mess, but it provided a lot of entertainment!
- We also really love to find interactive videos on YouTube that get your kiddos, and you, moving! Brain Break is one of our favorites!
- Have a bake day and stock up on healthy snacks you can freeze! Here is our favorite healthy muffin recipe that we use for breakfast or an on-the-go healthy snack:
Healthy Oatmeal Zucchini Muffins
-Build a fort! I know my kids love it when I let them move around the furniture and make their own oasis out of sheets, blankets and pillows. We like to break out the flashlights and Highlight magazines, and relax in the cozy space when we are done!
-Go puddle jumping! I think there is very little more satisfying to my 2-year-old than finding the biggest puddle to jump in and run through.
